10:45 a.m.: Admire the Painting Gallery in the Kunsthistorisches Museum (Museum of Fine Arts)
The painting Gallery of the Kunsthistorisches Museum emerged from the art collections of the House of Habsburg and is now one of the largest and most important of its kind in the world. The Bruegel Hall contains, among other things, the world's largest Bruegel collection, including the famous paintings "Bauernhochzeit” (Peasant wedding), "Kinderspiele" (Children plays), "The Hunters in the Snow” and also the “Tower of Babel”. Masterpieces by Vermeer, Rembrandt, Rafael, Caravaggio, Velázquez and Italian baroque paintings can also be admired in the unique rooms of the KHM.
Tip: On the occasion of the Beethoven year 2020, the museum will bring Beethoven's unique and universal reception in connection with paintings by Caspar David Friedrich, sketchbooks by J.M.W. Turner, sculptures by Auguste Rodin and paintings by Francisco de Goya.
